Bhatia Articulates Vision For Entrepreneurial Growth in the Silicon Prairie
SCHUAMBURG, Ill. – January 20, 2000 – Viresh Bhatia, co-founder and CEO of InstallShield® Software Corporation, today was named president of The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE®) – Midwest Chapter at its 2000 kick off meeting held at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza, Chicago. During his acceptance address, Bhatia outlined his vision for entrepreneurial growth within the Silicon Prairie fueled by mentoring, networking and education.
“As the Silicon Prairie continues to thrive, the Midwest’s hotbed of talent inherently fosters entrepreneurial spirit,” said Bhatia. “Our challenge as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting and fostering entrepreneurial efforts, is to nurture and lead that energy in the name of this region’s economic growth, as well as technological advancement everywhere.”
To support Bhatia’s vision, the TiE-Midwest Chapter launched the Angel Forum, a group of charter members, angel investors and venture capitalists organized to provide strategic counsel and financial resources for budding TiE-Midwest Entrepreneurs. In addition to the Angel Forum, TiE-Midwest announced its year 2000 programming and calendar of events which includes noteworthy guest speakers, as well as topical meetings and workshops focused on professional fellowship, legal and financial issues, business development planning and interactive forums. “TiE members across the country have generated more than $50 billion in wealth and played a powerful role in shaping today’s technology marketplace,” Bhatia added. “We are committed to ensuring TiE-Midwest programming provides our membership the tools to advance these results and yield proportionate statistics for this region’s entrepreneurs.”
